Converting VHS tapes to DVD disks

The easiest way to convert your VHS tapes to DVD is with a direct to DVD system. This option is more expensive than others, but it is the quickest. It requires you to purchase a DVD recorder. You can buy them in a "dual-deck" configuration, where you simply put your VHS tape in on side of the deck and a blank DVD in the other, then with the press of a button the conversion begins.

This link is for a bidirectional dual-deck unit, it's $300 but it will get the job done quickly and hassle free.

Other products allow you to capture your VHS tapes to your computer, edit, fix and otherwise adjust the picture. Then you export and burn the video to DVD. These products have a hardware devise that will allow you to plug your existing VHS devise into your computer's USB port. Though cheaper, starting at $50, the process is much more time consuming and requires you to own a fairly expensive computer. Capturing video can be processor intensive, and you'll need a lot of hard drive space for all your movies.

This is a reasonably priced product and will get the job done. Pinnacle is the leader in the consumer video hardware / software market.

Hope this helps you, if you have any other questions, just ask.
